The province of PESARO and URBINO-the Gola of FURLO a journey between beaches and nature unknown to tourists

Defined by many the grand Canyon of Italy, the gorge of Furlo is one of the less known beauties in all brands.

Is it a nature reserve established on 6 February 2001 by the Ministry of the Environment. (Gazzetta Ufficiale), recognised on 21 March 2017 by the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism.

Driving along the A14, exit Fano, continue on the SS3 towards Rome. At the exit Calmazzo – Passo del Furlo, you can reach the reserve in a few kilometres.

Arriving instead from Rome, always from the SS3, take the exit Furlo and in a few kilometers you will be at your destination

At the Antico Furlo restaurant, you can visit the room of Benito Mussolini, the Duce at the time of fascism in Italy. You will be able to observe original memorabilia of the era that represent it. Over the years the logo has become the center of interest for the nostalgic of the Duce and fascism.

In the immediate banks of the Metauro River that divides the Furlo, we find a green aerial equipped with barbecue for a pleasant picnic.

Another typical local where you can taste the splendid Piadina of Urbino (also called Fat Piadina for the presence of lard in the dough), accompanied by a beer made refrigerated inside a well.

If you are a guest of our farm in the Marche Valley of Metauro, reaching the gorge of Furlo is very simple. It can be reached in 15 minutes. You just have to enter the nearby Superstrada Fano-Grosseto, Direction Rome, and exit after Fossombrone to Calmazzo. From there in a few minutes you will have arrived.
